Ahoy! Welcome to the Cabin. My name is Spencer Thorn, and I offer professional mental health counseling to adults and couples serving the Marietta-Beverly, Ohio area in person or Ohio via telehealth. The cabin(office) is located at 21870 State Route 339, Beverly, OH. I also do tele-health sessions upon request.Whether you are looking for help in navigating a challenging situation, dealing with loss, improving your relationships, finding ways to manage your stress, or overcoming negative habits, I build on a trusting, collaborative relationship with open dialogue to help you move towards your goalsTogether, we uncover real hurdles and creatively tackle them. I strive to strike a balance between support, challenge, and a touch of humor as we work together.I'm informed by an existential-integrative approach to counseling, which means we work in the psychological, physical, social, and spiritual dimensions of who you are. We will explore how you exist in the world while developing skills and creating new ways of being that move you towards your goals and values.Some of the theoretical orientations I pull from are Existential Therapy, Gestalt Therapy, ACT, CBT, and Solution-Focused Counseling.Though our lives may differ or be aligned, with mutual effort and commitment, we can do meaningful work together. My style is practical and creative, and I draw on the humanities, psychology, nature, and your experience to make real progress.

Spencer Thorn, LPCC

Professional Counselor, Owner

After growing up in Upstate Newyork, I've lived in Southeastern Ohio with my wife since 2019. I completed my undergraduate education in Music at SUNY Oswego and my Master's in Mental Health Counseling at Marshall University.My work experience has ranged from coaching tennis and teaching music to working in various therapeutic roles at schools and in the community. These experiences have helped me become a more well-rounded counselor. I currently work full-time at Marietta College as a mental health counselor.When I'm not working, you can find me playing music, reading books, whacking tennis balls, taking care of my property, or hanging with my family.I am licenced as an LPCC (Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor) in the great state of Ohio.
